PRESIDENT
Michael Zapata is proud to serve as President of the County Line Community Band, a place he has called home for the past three years. A dedicated low brass musician, Michael performs on euphonium and tuba and enjoys supporting the ensemble as an occasional guest conductor. His passion for community music began at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, where he earned a Bachelor of General Studies with an emphasis in music and performed with the Wind Symphony, the TAMUK Tuba–Euphonium Ensemble, and Phi Mu Alpha instrumental groups. He was also an active member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity and Tau Beta Sigma, organizations rooted in musical service and fellowship.
Beyond the stage, Michael serves as a contractor with the United States Air Force, helping manage the service’s special trophies and awards program. He is married to his wife, Taryn, and together they enjoy music, exploring new places, and going on adventures whenever possible.
In San Antonio, Michael has performed with several local groups and remains committed to fostering a welcoming, uplifting musical community. Through the County Line Community Band, he continues to support opportunities for musicians of all backgrounds to make music, build connections, and serve the community together.
