Wanda’s mastery on Flute has made her one of the most sought after private instructors in the area. She has taught Flute/Piccolo master classes for years in both Oklahoma and Texas and continues to teach in the East Central ISD, La Vernia ISD and Floresville ISD surrounding communities. Many of her students move on to received superior ratings on their solos and ensembles and several have received superior ratings at the State Level competitions. She has served as a judge for TMEA and ATSSB Region flute auditions in Houston, Marion and La Vernia regions.

She has volunteered full-time in the High Schools and Middle Schools of Marion ISD and Comal ISD assisting band directors as an administrative assistant from 2006-2013. Prior to 2007, she worked at Bear Branch Elementary in Kingwood, TX for five years as the assistant to the music director and was assistant director for the Fifth Grader’s productions of “The Nutcracker.” She has also worked with the Houston Symphony Docent Program at the Elementary school level introducing students to instruments through their “Sounds of the Orchestra” program.

She has a life-long love of performing with community bands and when not involved in her own music activities, she enjoys traveling to Baylor University to attend all of her son’s Wind Ensemble and Orchestra concerts. Her son, Tyler, is currently a Senior majoring in Horn Performance.
