PRESIDENT

Todd C. Phillips is a lifelong resident of Bexar County, Texas. He was raised on the eastern farmlands of the County and attended schools in the East Central School District. Todd began playing the bugle when he was six years old and was proficient on the trumpet when he graduated from East Central High School in 1968. He attended St. Mary's University on a music scholarship for a short time that same year before joining the United States Air Force. After serving his country honorably for four years he took a position with City Public Service of San Antonio in 1973. His trumpet playing took a 28-year hiatus as he provided for his family working for the City owned utility. Fortunately for him, the local parish bought a new Allen organ and was looking for a trumpet player to perform along with the new instrument. Todd decided to dust off his old trumpet and reclaim his playing skills.

In 1997 Todd joined the County Line Community Band at Loire, Texas where he was able to expand his musical knowledge and contribute to the group while making friends with many good musicians. In his 20 years with the band he has enjoyed many memorable concerts, parades, and festivals. During that time Todd has served as a section leader and Events Coordinator. He is currently serving his second term as band President. Todd Phillips believes in community service and that the County Line Community Band is an organization with a great future.
