EVENTS COORDINATOR

She is a self proclaimed “Jack of all trades and master of none.” Throughout her life, Joan has worked as a commercial driver, built her own house, competed in the Olympics, served in congress and once ruled the world for a short time. Her eclectic background brought her to work as a sherpa taking world-class mountain climbers to the summit of Mount Everest. Her personal best was accomplished when she reached the summit twice in one day. When asked how she did it, she replied” Well, when we got there I realized I forgot the Champagne so I had to go back down and get it!” After hang gliding from her lofty heights, she has settled down in the hill country of Texas and now serves as our Events Coordinator, Band Mom and all around great person! Her personal motto is “Keep things together tightly, like a tick on a catfishes back in a dry riverbed!”

Tall tales aside, she is one of the hardest working people we have and her tenacious attention to detail and dedication to supporting the mission of the band is second to none. She is the bedrock that allows the Leadership of the band, its members and support personnel to successfully accomplish all that we endeavor to do. She is the quietist of quiet professionals, but lurks behind the mask of success much like the Wizard of Oz. She can’t wear ruby slippers, but if you’re ever in need of getting home, Joan is the one person who can help you ride the tornado!
